From subtle changes to significant shifts, the following will highlight the main benefits of Laser AI - Lithium. Below, we highlight four of the biggest changes made to Laser AI and it's features:

Reference Management

Laser AI now integrates with two external PDF providers to help streamline the research process.

Features:

  • OpenAlex: Check for available relevant PDFs from the largest open-access library
  • Article Galaxy: You can now search for free and paid PDFs, with links opening in a new tab, for download or purchase.

Data Extraction

Enhance PDF interaction during the data extraction (DE) stage, transitioning table interactions from beta to full integration.

Features:

  • Improved PDF Interaction: It is easier to select text, and there is improved navigation to linked text sections.
  • Connections: The connections in the DE form are clearer.
  • Table Extraction: There is improved activation and interaction within the table.
  • Other:  There is better handling of multi-level and long vocabularies.

The new focus modes (FM) increase user focus and adapt to individual preferences and contexts. By unifying the look and feel of the focus modes across stages, we have made Laser AI more intuitive.

  • Title & Abstract Screening Focus Mode: There is the same level of flexibility as on the Full-Text stage, with adjustable text size and improved space utilisation.
  • Conflict List Filtering: You can filter conflicts by owner (Your own/generated by others).
  • Conflict FM: There is a consistent view for title & abstract screening and Full-Text conflicts, mirroring regular stage FM capabilities.

Dashboards

We have streamlined and unified the dashboard views, improving accessibility and space utilisation.

Features:

  • Consistent QA Progress Display: QA progress is shown consistently with other progress bars.
  • Improved Team Progress Section: Lists only those involved in distribution and displays in-progress tasks during screening stages (including QA)
