Post Event Content

Just like that, the Global Evidence Summit 2024 has come to a close. Over the week in Prague, we discussed the challenges and innovations in evidence-based practice across multiple industries with colleagues and clients.

The Global Evidence Summit have also recently release their recordings of the plenary sessions, one of which will be of strong interest to the Laser AI audience.

The debate around the role of AI in Evidence Synthesis.

Justyna Lityńska, part of the GRADEpro team, also participated in several events and has shared her insights with us:

Applying the GRADE-ADOLOPMENT approach

Workshop

Adapting existing guidelines can save time and effort. It is a worthwhile endeavour, a complex one nonetheless. An emerging GRADE Guidance paper on the GRADE Adolopment approach can help researchers with that process. Additionally, they can use GRADEpro Adolopment feature to automate that. It is also worth noting that increasing the quality and transparency of guidelines in general will make contextualization and adaptation easier. This is an effort we're very proud and eager to support

Panel across borders – training on how to leverage technology to facilitate fully remote guideline development

Workshop

While running a guideline panel online has numerous upsides, including the lower carbon footprint and time saved on travel, it can also pose challenges. GRADEpro's PanelVoice aims to solve those issues by providing online forms for easy communication with the panel. The feature is flexible and can be applied in many ways, both to scope panel opinions prior to the meeting and to confirm final judgements afterwards.

Guideline Development Strategies 1

Oral Presentation

During the session, various guideline development strategies were presented, including the living guideline process, which LASER AI proudly supports. Another insight was Robby Nieuwlaat's presentation on Good Practice Statements (GPS). GPS can help save time on full recommendation development when the evidence is clear enough to provide actionable instructions. An example used was GPS, which was developed for the CAN PCC project and which Evidence Prime supports. Together with the McMaster team, we created an online RecMap of post covid recommendations, available at can-pcc.recmap.org. GPS was also developed for European Commission Initiatives for Cancer guidelines, which we are also proud to assist with.
