ISPOR Boston 2023

Held from the 7th to the 10th of May 2023 in Boston, USA, the ISPOR 2023 conference brought together professionals in health economics and outcomes research (HEOR). Researchers, healthcare leaders, and decision-makers came together to exchange knowledge on evidence-based medicine and patient-centered outcomes. The 2023 conference explored themes of efficiency in evidence generation and the integration of technology in research. It highlighted the importance of collaboration among professionals to address challenges in healthcare economics.

Evidence Prime presented the following poster:  
Impact of AI-Assisted Single Screening (AISS) on Efficiency in Systematic Reviews of Economic Evaluations. This study examined whether AI-assisted screening improves the identification of studies for systematic reviews. The research demonstrated a 43% reduction in the workload for title and abstract screening. The findings indicated a time saving of 19 hours and 16 minutes, suggesting that the AISS approach reduces human effort in reviews with cost and cost-effectiveness outcomes. ‍

Evidence Prime’s attendance at ISPOR Boston highlighted the role of technological innovation in HEOR. Artur Nowak, Co-founder and CTO, represented the organization and presented the findings on AI-assisted screening. The insights gained from the conference inform the development of tools for economic evaluations. We continue to investigate methods to improve research productivity.
